Net Zero target deadlines are fast approaching, and many businesses face the reality that if they don't act now they risk falling short. While progress in renewable technologies has been significant - particularly in electricity Generation - other sectors, such as transport and heavy-duty goods, remain difficult to decarbonise. Pink Tank's mission is focused on addressing this challenge by driving the adoption of pink hydrogen, hydrogen generated by nuclear energy, and hydrogen-based solutions in the place of current high-emission technologies.
Pink Tank is a UK-based not-for-profit business with a current focus on Anglo-French companies committed to reducing their emissions, with a view to expand globally in the future. We know that a major challenge for hydrogen today is slow uptake driven by a lack of coordinated demand and commercial incentives. Pink Tank aims to bridge this gap through three core branches: Accreditation, Matchmaking and Publicity.
We will offer a paid accreditation service for pink hydrogen consumers, suppliers and technical experts, with tiered levels recognising progress and enabling companies to demonstrate credible commitment to hydrogen adoption. By building this pink hydrogen network, we will facilitate connections across the value chain - matching producers and suppliers with companies developing and deploying hydrogen technologies. As we drive uptake of pink hydrogen across industry, we will also launch a public campaign to raise its profile and generate excitement among a wider audience.
Unlike existing industry groups, Pink Tank combines accreditation, commercial matchmaking, and public engagement to actively stimulate demand—not just coordinate supply. We are building a community with the power to make a difference and the drive to act now.
Hydrogen has been identified as a key player in decarbonising previously difficult to decarbonise sectors, including heavy duty transport
These serctors are generally unsuitable for battery technologies, often due to additional weight and charging convenience.
The Hydrogen market is currently dominated by Grey Hydrogen - produced using fossil fuels - and emitting up to 10kg of CO2e for each kilo of hydrogen produced

Pink Hydrogen, hydrogen generated using nuclear energy, produces less than a tenth of CO2e per kilo of hydrogen produced by fossil fuels.
This is less than hydrogen produced using renewable energy, that is wind and solar. Furthermore, pink hydrogen can be up to 20-30% more efficient and is significantly more reliable than renewables.
By adopting pink hydrogen in transport, heating and industrial sectors, we can cut emissions by a minimum of 7.6 million tonnes per year with a production capacity of 3GW.

The International Energy Agency (IEA), has identified the largest challenge to reach the necessary levels of hydrogen production as set out in Global Hydrogen Policies as being uncertain demand.
At Pink Tank, it is our primary goal to facilitate demand growth and technical support and credibility for our members
We believe that demand security and educational initiatives will help us make the planet pinker.
Pink Hydrogen, hydrogen produced using nuclear energy, is the best solution for low carbon hydrogen production as it matches production techniques such as wind and solar on carbon emissions while producing hydrogen at higher efficiency and more reliably. It is one of the few hydrogen colours, with grey hydrogen produced by fossil fuels, green hydrogen by renewables and blue being grey but with carbon capture.
Hydrogen fills the gaps where other solutions fail. Batteries, for example, have proved too heavy to be a viable solution for decarbonising heavy transportation. Hydrogen solves this problem as it has a higher specific energy than batteries making it a great solution for zero emissions aircraft and Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs).
One of the major current weaknesses in the Pink Hydrogen market is a lack of demand. Pink Hydrogen producers and users alike struggle to aggregate demand for their services. At Pink Tank, it is our mission to change that.
Pink Tank will incentivise the adoption of Pink Hydrogen using numerous coordinated schemes to drive up demand. This will include schemes for accreditation, fostering technical partnerships, grants and publicity. These schemes will work together making it easier for companies to adopt Pink Hydrogen and then ensuring that companies get the appropriate recognition for their efforts.
